Lois Thelma Whiteside
Lois Thelma Whiteside was born May 26, 1913, at Thayer, Mo., the daughter of John McClung and Edith Stout McClung. She died Feb. 6, 2009, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 95.
She was united in marriage Jan. 21, 1934, at Koshkonong, Mo., to Bert Whiteside who preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2000.
She was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated the family farm for over 60 years.
She was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ.
She is survived by: one son, Don Whiteside and wife, Brenda of Thayer; one grandson, Devin Whiteside and his wife Samantha of Thayer; one granddaughter, Leslie Allen and her husband Jeremy of Thayer; one great-grandson; one brother-in-law, Ray Whiteside and his wife Daisy of Thayer.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Edith McClung; her husband, Bert Whiteside; five brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Feb. 8 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Lee Moses officiating. Burial followed at the Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery near Thayer, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Don Johnson, Jerry French, Ken Royster, Wayne Smith, Lanis Nicholson and John Wilkening.
