Lester Gotte was born Sept. 18, 1928, at Iota, La., to Webb and Mabel (LeJune) Gotte. He died Feb. 6, 2009, at Enid, Okla.
Lester owned and operated Gotte's Construction Company and a water company in Hardy, Ark., for 43 years. He and his wife Jackie owned and operated the Walleye Motel and the Sportsman's Tavern in Longdale, Okla.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one daughter, Gloria Gann.
He is survived by: his wife, Jackie of the home; two sons, Cullen Gotte and wife Carolyn of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Robert Gotte and wife Vicki of Cherokee Village, Ark.; three step-children, Christopher and Wesley Phillips, and Jennifer Paskero, all of Scurry, Texas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, William Gotte of Texas; one sister, Anna Mae LaComb of Louisiana; and many friends.
His body was cremated at his request. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Feb. 12 at Longdale Community Church with Pastor Ray Schoonmaker officiating. Interment will be in Longdale Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home of Canton, Okla.
