June M. Hellner, 88, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Feb. 1, 2009, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. She was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Robert Meldrum and Helen (Schindler) Meldrum.
June moved to Cherokee Village with her husband, James, 23 years ago. She was a volunteer at the local hospital for over 15 years before it closed down. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors include: her husband, James J. Hellner; one son, Timothy J. Hellner of Marengo, Ind.; one daughter, Julie Ann Hellner of Ash Flat; and one brother, Robert Meldrum of Detroit, Mich.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark.
A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
