Eagles fly past Jays

The Hartville Eagles pushed past the Koshkonong Bluejays for a 79-52 win Feb. 3, despite a 29-point outburst from Shane Davis.

Wayne Cahoj finished with eight points for the Jays, while Evan Ball and Robert Gatewood had five points each. Dillynn Cook tallied four points and Kelby Waggoner scored one point for Koshkonong.

The Summersville Wildcats came out of the gates firing and knocked off Koshkonong 100-51 in the opening round of the Big Spring Conference Tournament Feb. 4 at Couch.

The fourth-seeded Wildcats took a commanding 35-8 lead over the fifth-seeded Jays after the first period and never slowed down.

Davis led Koshkonong with 22 points, while Cook had nine and Tim Voss eight. Waggoner scored five, Gatewood four and Cahoj two for the Bluejays.

Billy Cross had a game-high 28 points for Summersville. Waylon Tuttle added 26 and Scott Haynes followed with 22.
