Funeral services for Leonard Duane Staley, 83, of Koshkonong, Mo., were held Feb. 17, 2009, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, Mo., with Rev. Don Tabor officiating.
He was born April 17, 1925, in Koshkonong, Mo., the son of the late Roy Ernest Staley Sr. and Etta Ruth Linn Staley. He died Feb. 13, 2009, in Springfield, Mo.
He was united in marriage Aug. 1, 1948, in West Plains, Mo., to Leota Irene Williams, who preceded him in death April 28, 2002.
He is survived by: three children, Gerald Staley, his significant other, Cindy Blankenship of Steeleville, Mo., Rosemary Trobaugh, husband, Melvin of Koshkonong, and Roy Ernest Staley and wife, Carolyn, of Koshkonong; a daughter-in-law, B. Carolyn of Steeleville; one brother, Harvey Staley, wife Mary Lou of Muscatine, Iowa; one sister, Ruth Longnecker of Silvis, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Jake and Melissa Staley, Jody and Gabriel Trobaugh, Jerry Granger, wife Becky, Jason, Brian and Steve Staley; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Leota Irene Williams; his parents, Roy Ernest Staley Sr. and Etta Ruth Linn Staley; five brothers; and six sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayside Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.
Burial was at Wayside Cemetery in Howell County, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of West Plains.
