Thelma Mae Arnold Dale, daughter of the late George Houston Arnold and Nancy Branscum Arnold, was born Dec. 4, 1921 in Zion, Ark. She died Feb. 7, 2009, in Melbourne, Ark., at the age of 87.

She was married to Emmit Dale on April 1, 1944, and to this union, two children were born.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Zion Baptist Church.

She is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, Coy and Betty Dale of Sage; one daughter, Norma McCall of Sage; four grandchildren, Jerry Dale, Gary Dale, Sherry McNeill, and Michael McCall; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one brother, Ed Arnold; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Lee Dale.

Funeral services were held Feb. 11 at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with David Jennings and Bobby Cannon officiating. Burial followed at Caney Spring Cemetery with arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers were James Douglas Arnold, Ray Arnold, Lee Arnold, Jerry Arnold, Raymond Arnold and Demmie Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Grissom, Chris Arnold and Doug Arnold.
