Bonnie Jean Young, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Ira Zackery and Goldie Patterson Zackery Ford, was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Monette, Ark. She died Feb. 25, 2009, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 83.
She was united in marriage to Bill Young Jr. Oct. 12, 1940, in Lake City, Ark.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Survivors include: her children, Calvin Young of Ravenden, Ark., Coy Young of Ravenden, Wilma Torrence of Chewelah, Wash., Cordialee Heide of Evening Shade, Mary Ann Weatherford of Salesville, Tommy Young of Ravenden, Doris Johnson of Minnesota, Fairn Young of Viola, Joyce Comeau of Mammoth Spring, Ellen Mullins of Highland, Terry Young of Salem and Clarence Young of Mountain View; 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; two sons, Orgel Glen and Alvin Lee Young; two grandchildren, Rhonda Bailey and Phillip Young; one brother, Ira Zackery Jr.; one sister, Othella Walker; and her father and mother.
Services were held Feb. 27 at the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
