MAMMOTH SPRING -- The Mammoth Spring City Council met in regular session March 2 and passed a new resolution and a new ordinance.
The resolution passed was 200901 and allows the mayor to write grants for generators for the fire and police departments as well as for the city's two lift stations.
Ordinance 200903 was passed by the city council and it pertains to condemning private property at Third and Walker Streets in the city. The property has been abandoned and the city has tried to reach the owners of the property several times and received no response.
The city will be advertising for bids for 2009 warm weather street work. Council members were advised by the mayor to start looking at the streets around the city to see what streets need to be paved.
Council members discussed FEMA and the recent ice storm. Mayor Pace explained the process of receiving federal emergency funds. Mayor Pace said she had recently met with FEMA officials in Mountain Home and Salem and they were the people that she would be working with for federal reimbursement.
