ALTON -- An Alton woman, Lisa R. Harrell (Claudio), 26, is in the Oregon County Jail at Alton charged with two counts of class C felony assault after she allegedly shot a child and a man.
A probable cause statement from Prosecuting Attorney Fred O'Neill said on March 6, Oregon County Deputy Darrin Sorrell was called to a residence on County Road 103, off AA Highway.
When Deputy Sorrell arrived at the mobile home, Oregon County Chief Deputy Eric King and Deputy Eddie Johnson were already there. Sorrel helped detain the alleged shooter and identified her as Lisa R. Harrell (Claudio). She was placed in handcuffs and transported to the sheriff's office.
The statement says Larry Sisco told Sorrell he and Claudio had been fighting over money and she ran into the bedroom saying no one loves her or cares about her. She then grabbed a 12 gauge shotgun out of a corner and put the barrel in her mouth. Sisco told her not to be stupid and pulled the gun away from her, as he did, she pulled the trigger and the gun went off.
The bullets went through the wall and hit his grandson and Richard Williams. Williams was struck in the face, arm and leg. The child was struck in the head, back and foot.
Sorrell spoke with one of the other juveniles at the home and had him fill out a statement. He said he was sitting on the deep freeze when he heard a boom. He said he heard the baby crying and saw the baby bleeding. He said Williams was also bleeding.
According to the statement, once at the sheriff's office Claudio admitted she and Sisco had been arguing over bills. She also said she stuck a 12 gauge shotgun in her mouth and Sisco grabbed the gun away from her. She said she couldn't remember the gun going off and all she could recall is getting in the police vehicle.
There were four other children in the home at the time of the shooting. All four children were removed from the home and turned over to other family members. Williams was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. The child was transported by air to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
Claudio is in the Oregon County Jail with a bond set at $50,000.
