Cystic Fibrosis benefit set

The 24th annual Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Fishing Tournament is scheduled for April 25 on Norfork Lake.

The tournament launch will be out of the Lake Nofork Marina, east of Mountain Home on Highway 62 East.

This tournament is the second-largest one held on Norfork Lake each year.

This year's Cystic Fibrosis Tournament will pay 20 places.

First big bass and second big bass will be paid and merchandise will be awarded to 21st through 40th places.

First place wins $2,000 plus a Phelix Model Basscat boat and trailer.

Entry fee for this tournament is $65 per boat. Entries will be taken by mail until April 21.

Entry will also be held the morning of the tourney at the Lake Norfork Marina from 5:30 a.m. until 7 a.m.

All fishermen and boat types are invited to participate.

Entry forms may be picked up at West Plains Marine, Ozark Auto & Marine, Broken Bow and Hammonds One Stop, or online at www.hope4cf.com.

Ozark Auto & Marine Sales is also raffling a mini cycle, with the proceeds going to cystic fibrosis.

Raffle tickets may be purchased at Ozark Auto & Marine Sales on Washington Street in West Plains.

According to event organizers, all entry fees are tax deductable. The 2008 Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Fishing Tournament had over 460 fishermen participate and raised over $10,000, bringing the event's total to over $261,000.
