Joe "Butch" Finney, 61, of Mammoth Spring, Ark., died March 12, 2009, at his home. He was born Aug. 27, 1947, at Walnut Ridge, Ark., the son of Joe Alexander and Pearl Carolyn Bandy Finney.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a brick layer, a member of the Brick Layer and Allied Craftsman of Indiana/Kentucky Local 4, and a member of the American Legion Post 336 in Hardy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring.
Survivors include: a son, Randy Finney of Mishawaka, Ind.; a daughter, Kelly Finney of Mammoth Spring; two brothers, Jerry Finney of Tucson, Ariz., and Tim Black of Mammoth Spring; five sisters, Carolyn Cowen of Mammoth Spring, Nancy Taylor and husband, Roger of Black Rock, Donna Allen of Melbourne, Sandra Finney of Highland, Janey Lambert and husband, Scott of Glencoe; four grandchildren, Randall Finney of Mishawaka, Ind., Austin McKinney, Julia Scott and Jacob Scott all of Mammoth Spring; a special friend, Janice Carrigan of Scotland; several nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Richard "Rickey" Finney; and a nephew, Jesse Johnson.
Funeral services were held March 15 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, with Bro. Jimmy Lemonds officiating. A graveside memorial service was held March 16 at the Lorado Cemetery located in Fontaine, Ark.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Hardy, Ark.
