Bob Eddy from Batesville won the first of three handicap sweepers at Indian Hills Bowl after defeating Jon Sharp, also from Batesville, in the final game (231-210 with handicap) recently.
The largest prize fund to date for a single day handicap sweeper event at Indian Hills concluded March 15.
The field of 35 bowlers competed for the prize fund of $1,487.
After five games, the field was cut to the top eight scores. Keith Anderson from Batesville was top seed with 1197. Second was Bob Eddy with 1193. Third was Rick Isley from Batesville with 1178. Fourth was Phil Haagenson from Ash Flat. Fifth was Mike Aronoff from Cherokee Village. Sixth was Jon Sharp with1166. Seventh was Anthony Sledge from Jonesboro with 1146 and eighth was Wesley Spray with 1144, also from Jonesboro.
The above bowlers cashed as they were seeded into single game bracket elimination format.
The first set of games with handicap went as follows: Anderson (6th; $93)/Spray 200-224; Eddy/Sledge(5th; $118) 220-216; Isley(7th; $83)/Sharp 192/213; Haagenson/Aronoff(8th; $72) 251-171.
The winners advanced to the second set of games which went as follows: Eddy/Spray(4th; $148 ) 261-190; Haagenson(3rd; $223)/Sharp 221-232.
The final game left Eddy(1st)/Sharp(2nd) 231-210.
Eddy received $473 and champion status, while Sharp received $277 for second place.
