Betty Berniece Gregory, 80, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., daughter of the late John Arthur and Bessie Mae (Hunter) Gentry, was born on May 14, 1928, in Alma, Ark. She died on March 16, 2009, at her home in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.
Betty was united in marriage to Truman Gregory on Feb. 16, 1943, at Fort Smith, Ark.
She spent her working years as a cook and waitress.
She was a member of the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church.
She is survived by: one son, Donald Gregory (Kristen) of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; four daughters, Diana Archer of Millington, Tenn., Karen Dedmon (Gary) of Millington, Tenn., Margarett Pool (Robert) of Seeley, Calif., and Valerie Smith (Robert) of Horseshoe Bend; three brothers, Carol Gentry (Cathy) of Shiloh, Ariz, Allen Gentry (Francis) of Clearlake Highlands, Calif., and Joe Gentry (Jackie) of Holtville, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son, Ronald Gregory.
A memorial service was held March 21, at the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend with Bro. Eric Ertle officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
Memorials preferred to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
