Paul Wayne Beeler, 72, of Viola, Ark., son of the late Russell H. Beeler and Edith L. Wooten Beeler, was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Huntington, Ind. He died March 18, 2009, at his home in Viola.
He was united in marriage to Janice Bergman July 10, 1982, at Gepp, Ark.
He joined the United States Navy at age 13 and when his age was discovered, he was discharged. He waited until he was 17 and joined the Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.
He was a self-employed cattle farmer and he was a Christian.
Survivors include: his wife, Jan Beeler of the family home at Viola; two sons, Paul W. Beeler Jr. of Tabor, Iowa, and Joseph A. Beeler of Lowell, Ark.; two daughters, Elizabeth Schwab of Norfork, Va., and Patricia Beeler of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandsons, Christopher William Beeler, Aaron Scott Beeler and Gerald Russell Beeler; two brothers, Richard and Donald Beeler; one sister, Janet Larkey, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Ruth Carolyn Ireland Beeler; his daughter, Mary Alice Beeler; and his father and mother.
Funeral services were held March 22 at the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
