Auction will help Ag Department at Highland

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Got an old tractor, truck or trailer that you have been thinking about selling but haven't had the time? Well, Highland High School Agriculture Department is giving everyone the perfect opportunity to do so April 11.

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) is hosting a consignment auction to raise funds for the agriculture department. The funds will not go toward any one particular event, but the department as a whole.

Items will be accepted up until sale time on April 11. There is a $10 no-sale fee or a 10 percent per item commission, not to exceed $50. There are already several items in the auction including a couple of tractors, trucks and trailers.

The sale will begin at 10 a.m., April 11, with Gary Smith as the auctioneer. There will also be baked goods for sale as well as a concession stand.

"We're just hoping it's pretty (the weather)," Smith said. "The kids have worked hard putting this together."

For further information regarding the auction Randy Nicholson can be contacted at 870-847-5856 or Jared Johnson at 870-307-1831.
