Artie M. Clayton, 95, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late John W. Moser and Nancy Montgomery Moser, was born Feb. 23, 1914, in Morriston, Ark. She died April 3, 2009 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
She was married to Jack Clayton on Nov. 9, 1935.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Clayton of Columbia, Mo., Nancy Barnett and husband, Gordon of Salem, Jackie Clayton and wife, Judy of Salem and Jim Clayton of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Noel Moser of Damascus, Albert Moser of Oakley, Kan., and Archie Moser of Winona, Kan.; a sister, Susan Perryman; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband on April 6, 1981; a daughter-in-law, Ava Jo Clayton; sisters, Lela Blue, Leona Crouch and Armilda Bookout; a brother John Wallace Moser; and her father and mother.
Funeral services were held April 6 at the Wheeling Church of Christ with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
