On Arpril 1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes resumed collection of day use fees.
These fees had been suspended since last season's record-high lake levels.
Boat launch ramps have been repaired and water damaged signs and fee vaults are being replaced.
Fees can be paid each day by using the day use envelopes and fee vaults at major Corps boat launches and swim beaches, or an annual day use pass may be purchased.
A day use pass is hung from the interior rear view mirror of a vehicle.
Holders may use any day use area managed by the Corps nationwide at no additional cost.
These passes do not apply to other types of use fees, such as camping or picnic shelter reservation fees.
Day use passes are available at the Mountain Home Project Office at 324 West 7th Street in Mountain Home.
The passes cost $30 each.
Holders of Golden Age or Access Passports or America the Beautiful Senior or Access Passports may purchase one pass for $15.
Additional passes can be purchased at full price.
Purchasers of passes this year will see a change from previous years.
The month and year stickers will now reflect the expiration date instead of the purchase date.
This means there will not be a 2009 sticker issued but one that expires in 2010.
This change will make the pass expiration more clear.
