Nora Jewell Sherrill, 93, of Salem, Ark. daughter of the late William Levi and (Eula Mae (Boone) Chipman, was born on April 23, 1915, in Ripley, Tenn. She died April 10, 2009, at the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem.
Nora was united in marriage to Huston B. Sherrill on Sept. 15, 1940, at Kennett, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Thayer First Baptist Church at Thayer, Mo., and a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by: a son, H. E. "Gene" Sherrill (Paula) of Wildwood, Mo.; daughter, Joan Hammond of Salem; four sisters, Mable Wood of Dallas, Texas, Sybil Moore of Ripley, Tenn., Juanita Jones of Bartlett, Tenn. and Wanda Carson of Ripley; four grandchildren, Rhonda Hammond, Tonya Clements (Don), Megan Kelly (Scott) and Allison Niermann (Jeff); eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services were held April 14 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring, Ark., under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Don Clements, Brandon Clements, Scott Kelly, Jeff Niernann, Noble Lewis and John Stone.
Memorials preferred to the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem.
