The Viola Lady Longhorns finished in third place at the Ozark Mountain softball tournament at Harrison April 11.
Viola opened play in the tournament by smoking the Bergman Lady Panthers 23-1.
Taylor Griggs took the win for Viola by tossing a three-inning no-hitter. She walked just one and fanned five.
In the semi-final round, the Lady Longhorns fell to the Rose Bud Lady Ramblers 5-1.
Leslie Barker took the loss, giving up five hits and three walks. She struck out six.
Dedra Johnston was two-for-three at the plate and Heather Simmons was one-for-two and scored Viola's only run.
In the consolation finals, Viola knocked off Batesville Southside by a 16-6 count.
Chasidy Hutson went five-for-five and drove in one run. Lindsey Walker was four-for-four with a double and four ribbies.
Barker and Johnston each had three hits.
Johnston had two doubles, and an RBI, with Barker knocking in one run.
Barker was the winning pitcher, giving up six hits and three walks, while striking out one.
The Lady Longhorns pushed past the Hillcrest Screamin' Lady Eagles 8-2 April 7 behind another outstanding afternoon in the circle from Johnston.
She gave up just two hits and a walk, while fanning three in 3 1/3 innings of work.
Griggs came in and pitched the final 3 2/3 innings for Viola.
At the plate, Johnston had a hit and RBI.
Barker had three hits and a run-batted-in for the Lady Longhorns.
