Alberta Eileen Ronan was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Salem, Mo., the daughter of Charles Arthur Leonard and Mabel C. Thornton Leonard. She died April 6, 2009, in Thayer Mo., at the age of 89.
She was a bookkeeper, having been employed by Mercantile Bank in St. Louis for many years. She later worked for ITT Continental until her retirement. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in St. Louis and later attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Thayer. She was a sponsor of the Christian Children's Fund.
She is survived by: two daughters, Eileen Richardson of Thayer and Barbara Trexler of Thayer; seven grandchildren, Michael Bond and wife, Donna of Potosis, Mo., Jeanie Rauch and husband, Ron of St. Peters, Mo., Paula Powell of Phoenix, Ariz., Julia Bond-Chinn of Redding, Calif., Christiana Frillmen and husband, Stan of Licking, Mo.; Robin Kenner of Thayer and Jeannette Bryant and husband, Mark of Thayer; 11 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great- grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands; one brother, Lloyd Leonard; and three sisters, Lois Rumsey, Dale Chapman and Lila Taylor.
Funeral services were held April 11 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Rodney Baumgarden officiating.
Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
