The Hardy Advertising and Promotions Committee met on April 15 at City Hall to discuss items of concern and addresss upcoming events.
The decision was made to host a monthly Tailgate Produce Day on the third Friday of the month. This event is free to vendors, but only produce can be offered for sale. The event will be held in the parking lot next to the Motor Car Museum on Main Street. Owner Ernie Sutherland has allowed the use of this area during this time. The produce will be available from daylight to dusk beginning April 17.
In other business, the possibility of purchasing barricades for the car cruise that is set for June 5 was discussed. If the committee agrees to purchase these barriers, they will also be used for events that are hosted in Hardy such as parades. No vote was taken on this issue.
Another topic was the potential for replacing the flags in Hardy with newer ones and putting the current flags outside of town.
The A & P Committee also discussed an upcoming ad in the Spring River Survival Guide as well as updating the Web site.
A request was made by the Main Street Hardy organization for $1,100 for music for the Arts and Crafts show. Mayor Thornton said the request was denied due to a lack of motion to approve.
