Sharp County Judge Larry Brown announced April 16 that Renee Clay-Circle will fill the vacant Sharp County Coroner position left as a result of the recent death of Randy McComas.
Clay-Circle will serve out the remainder of McComas' term at no cost to the county.
Brown stated that she has completed training at the crime lab and is currently Chief Deputy Coroner.
McComas, 34, was found dead on April 8 near Wirth of a gunshot wound to the chest. This was an apparent suicide, but results are pending the autopsy report from the State Crime Lab.
Clay-Circle will resume the responsibilities immediately.
