Gary Dean Cotham was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Thayer, Mo., the son of Almous Cotham and Gladys Diles Cotham. He died April 14, 2009, in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 68.
He was united in marriage May 14, 1960, in West Memphis, Ark., to Karen Bradley.
He was a life-long resident of Thayer, Mo., and a retired truck driver, having owned and operated Cotham Trucking for 21 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Cotham of the home in Thayer; two sons, Kris J. Cotham and special friend, Shelia Roberts, both of Thayer and Gregory S. Cotham and wife, Caron Currier Cotham of Republic, Mo.; five grandchildren, Megan Hall of Springfield, Bret Cotham of Springfield, Tyler Cotham of Republic, Stefan Cotham of Thayer, and Samantha Cotham of Republic; one sister, Joyce Risner and husband, Herbert of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Billie J. Blair and husband, Arnold of Springfield, Mo., and Carryl Brown and husband, Ralph of Gainesville, Mo.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Almous and Gladys Cotham; one brother, James D. Cotham; and one sister, Jerry Ann Combs.
Funeral services were held April 17 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.
Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery at Thayer, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
