Two Thayer residents have been arrested in connection with a series of break-ins at two businesses and a church on April 8.
Adam Kerwin, 22, and Robert T. Renn, 19, have both been charged with second degree burglary, a Class C felony.
The businesses broken into were the Once Again Bar and the Elks Lodge as well as the New Life Church, all in Thayer.
At the Once Again Bar money was taken from the pool tables, juke box, dart game and Keno game money. According to circuit court documents, at least $500 was taken from the bar.
Officer Michael Bunting with the Thayer Police Department reported that when he went to investigate the break-in at the Once Again Bar, "the back door had been kicked and the window was busted out."
Money from a safe and a dart game was stolen from the Elks Lodge in the amount of about $2,107.15.
Officer Bunting's report said the basement door of the lodge was pried open and the security system had been disconnected.
The New Life Church also had at least $500 in a safe that was taken.
Officer Bunting wrote in his report that the back door of the church had been pried open.
According to the affidavit, Kerwin said the two had stolen the money to buy drugs.
Both Kerwin and Renn are being held at the jail at the Thayer Police Department.
