James Leroy Wright, 62, of Gepp, Ark., son of Helen Elaine Wright and the late Robert Leroy Wright, was born Nov. 22, 1946, at Danville, Ill. He died April 10, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.
James was united in marriage to Alice Jean Henderson on Feb. 16, 1972, at Shawnietown, Ill. He spent his working years as a heavy equipment operator in the United States Army from which he retired. James served in the Vietnam War during his time of service. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventists Church in Mountain Home, Ark.
He is survived by: his wife, Alice Wright of Gepp; one son, Kyle J. Wright of Viola; seven daughters, Jamie Wright of Westville, Ill., Nikole Wright of Canton, Ohio, Christine Wright of Gepp, Stacey, Lacey and Laura Wright all of the home in Gepp and Linda Englert (Harry) of Catlin, Ill.; his mother, Helen Wright of Tatum, Texas; one brother, George Vanvekoven (Doris) of State Line, Ind.; two sisters, Lorna Hays (Fred) of Tatum, Texas, and Alice Greer of Tatum, Texas; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his father; two brothers, William and Gregory Wright; and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held April 16 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Pastor Jonathan Belew officiating.
The arrangements were under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
