Junior Eugene Reeves was born July 21, 1924, the son of the late William O. Reeves and Ida Catherine Fraze Reeves on July 21, 1924, in Kennett, Mo., and died April 22, 2009, at his home in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 84.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo., to Josephine Grooms.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. He was a retired mechanic and machinist specializing in truck repair.
He was a member of the Norman Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Josephine Grooms Reeves of Thayer, Mo.; one brother, William Reeves of Kennett, Mo.; nieces; nephews; including Suzanne Grooms Spears of Pawnee, Okla., and Brenda Jo Briscoe of Pasadena, Texas; other relatives; neighbors and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, William O. and Ida Reeves, one brother, Raymond Reeves; two sisters, Merle Garretson and Thelma Carter; and one niece, Debra Meuser.
Graveside services were held April 25 at Norman Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Adrian officiating.
The arrangements were made under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, Mo.
