Cavewomen hammer Flippin, Yellville and Brookland in tournament action

The Cave City Cavewomen are 3A-1 East District Tournament champions after cruising to an 11-1 rout of Flippin in the finals April 17 in Harrison.

Rachel Roebuck earned the win, giving up six hits while fanning four in the title game.

Amelia Bray, Roebuck and Amie Willmuth each had three hits against Flippin.

Cheyenne Childers and Deana Hunter added two hits apiece for the Cavewomen.

In the semi-final round, Cave City blanked Yellville-Summit 10-0.

Roebuck pitched the victory, allowing four hits while striking out four.

Willmuth and Hunter each went three-for-three in the contest.

Elisha Ramos had two hits and Lindsey Wooldridge added two doubles for the Cavewomen.

The Cavewomen wasted little time in advancing in the 3A Region 3 Tournament.

Cave City hammered Brookland 11-0 in the tourney's opening round April 25 at Tuckerman.

The victory secured Cave City a berth in the Class 3A State Softball Tournament.
