It wasn't exactly your ordinary, average tournament game.
Rains forced a nearly two-hour delay and a change of venues and hits were hard to come by.
But in the end, Norfork managed to take third place in the 1A Region 2 Baseball Tournament with a 1-0 win over Mammoth Spring April 28.
The game started at Viola City Park and was in the top of the fifth inning when the skies opened up and the rain started to pour down on the field.
With the diamond a murky swamp due to the downpour, the contest was moved from Viola to the Cougar Sports Complex in Brockwell,
After a delay of over an hour-and-a-half, the game finally got back on track.
The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the first inning when Norfork's Joe Olson got on board thanks to a Mammoth Spring error.
Olson later came in to score on a passed ball for the only run of the contest.
Mammoth Spring starter Derek Henry tossed a no-hitter for the Bears, while Panther hurler Trey Killian gave up just one hit to Mammoth Spring.
In the semi-final round April 27, eventual champion Viola knocked off Mammoth Spring 6-3.
The Bears' season came to an end in the first round of the 1A State Tournament with a 15-4 loss to the Taylor Tigers.
