A motorcycle accident around 12:35 p.m., May 17, 10.5 miles south of Mammoth Spring, claimed the lives of two Popular Bluff, Mo., residents and injured two others.
According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, Joshua Ray, 17, of Cherokee Village was travelling northbound and made a left turn into a parking lot in the path of two motorcycles.
The first motorcycle was a 2007 Harley Davidson driven by Gerald Hays, 58, of Popular Bluff, Margaret Hays, 56, also of Popular Bluff was a passenger.
The second motorcycle was a 2004 Harley Davidson driven by Michael Strupp, 45 of Havell, Mo., and Kimberly Strupp, 42, also of Havell.
Ray's 1966 Buick hit the right front of the Hays' motorcycle throwing them from the vehicle. The Strupps avoided the accident by laying their motorcycle down in the northbound lane.
The Hays were killed and the Strupps were flown by separate Air Evac flights to UAMS in Little Rock and St. Johns in Springfield.
Arkansas State Trooper Kenneth Foley investigated the accident.
