Lady Hounds wrap up great season in Rogers

The Salem Lady Greyhound softball team had another successful season this year.

They were the 2A Co-Conference champs and were also runners-up in the 2A District Tournament held at Salem.

The Lady Hounds went on to take runner-up honors in the 2A Regional Tournament that was held in Melbourne.

Salem then qualified for the 2A State Tournament that was played in Rogers.

The Lady Greyhounds opened first-round play with an 8-6 victory over Magazine.

Salem's season then came to an end with a 4-0 loss to Foreman in the second round. Foreman went on to win the 2A State Championship.

The Lady Greyhounds finished in the top eight in the state. The team graduates four seniors that will be missed next year -- Laci Long, Terra Kinder, Stephanie McCullough and Amber Taylor.

They helped make this season a success.

Laci Long received All-Conference, All-Regional, All-State and All-State Tournament team honors. Terra Kinder was named All-Conference and All-Regional.

Ashley Brooks was named All-Conference and All-Regional.

Bethany Pate and Summer Moss were named All-Conference.
