The Izard County Sheriff's Department has made two arrests in connection with the burglary of the White River Café in Calico Rock.

The business was entered sometime after closing the night of May 9 and opening time the following day. The owner of the café said a cash register, safe and computer hard drive were taken and that the safe contained an undisclosed amount of money. The items minus the money were recovered early in the week.

The May 15 arrests were that of two male juveniles from the Calico Rock area. The 16 and 17-year-olds were taken to the juvenile detention facility in Batesville. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that the investigation, led by Sheriff's Investigator Charles Melton, is continuing.

Two males were arrested Saturday afternoon following a report that a canoe had been stolen from the bank of the Strawberry River in Izard County. Theft of property charges were filed against Dustin Robert Riddle, 27, of Yellville, and Troy Lynn Roberts, 23, of Oxford. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Robert Haney, who was cleaning fish near the river, observed someone taking the canoe and gave officers a good description. The recovered canoe was owned by Don Self of Franklin. Riddle and Roberts remain in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Felony drug related charges have been formalized against Ronnie Hayden Womack, 47, of Melbourne. Womack has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (narcotics) with the intent to deliver and possession of narcotics outside the original container. Womack remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Jessie R. Brock, 27, of Oxford, was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of public intoxication (drugs), possession of a controlled substance, and possession of an instrument of crime. Brock made provisions for bond and was given a court date.

Roger Dale Fulton, 47, of Horseshoe Bend who was serving a three day sentence in the Izard County Detention Facility was discovered to have a felony warrant from Howell County, Mo. According to Sheriff Lawrence, Fulton is charged with failure to register as a sex offender. Fulton was transferred to Howell County.
