Cochrans to celebrate 50 years together

Sweethearts for the last 50 years, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Cochran of Salem, Ark., will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary May 23, 2009.

Cochran is the former Lillian Joan King. The couple were married in 1959 by preacher Otho Norris at the King residence in downtown Salem.

Wes retired from the Fulton County Road Department and Joan is the retired owner/operator of Lavon's, the ladies clothing store that occupied the Salem Square for over 30 years.

Wes and Joan Cochran have one daughter, Lenisa Grass of Glencoe and one son, James Cochran also of Glencoe. They have four grandsons, as well as two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
