We Remember

Thursday, May 28, 2009

On a day to remember,

On a day that we are free.

Let's all take a moment to Thank them,

For liberty, for you and me.

The ones that gave their life,

The ones who gave their all.

Fathers sons and daughters,

Mothers, brothers be.

No matter where they came from,

No matter what remains.

Take a moment to remember,

And never forget their names.

It may be Dogface Grunt or Flyboy,

Swabby or Jarhead,

A Ranger, Seal or Sea Bee.

A name of Doc, Nurse or Padre'

called out, from the pain.

The name of a buddy,

Called out,

But never came.

They've paid the ultimate sacrifice,

of FREEDOM, for you and me.

Steven W. Looney

Very inspiring poem. Few people take the time to thank our veterans and current servicemen.

Another great and meaningful photo by Steve Looney. The poem is also excellent and reminds us of the great price that has has been paid for our freedom and way of life. We need to honor those lives given by not letting those freedoms be slowly taken away.
