Linda Tanner will be retiring from the Sharp County Extension Office July 10 after 37 years of service.

Tanner is a Highland High School graduate and attended Arkansas State University. She and her husband James have been married for 27 years.

During her career with the Extension office, Tanner served as the secretary and worked closely with 4-H, Extension Homemakers and agriculture clubs.

While working with the Extension Service, Tanner was able to meet with then Governor Bill Clinton.

She said she has enjoyed her career and especially enjoyed working with Joe, Millie and Denise. She said, "They are what made the job fun."

During her retirement, Tanner said she plans to relax and enjoy, do some traveling and spend time with her mother.

A drop-in retirement party will be hosted in Tanner's honor at the Sharp County Extension Office in Ash Flat July 10 from 2-4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
