Godwin ready to fly with Eagles

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Mammoth Spring baseball standout Seth Godwin is headed to Williams Baptist College to continue his career on the diamond.

Godwin, a 2009 graduate of Mammoth Spring High School, recently signed his commitment to play with the Eagles at WBC.

He is the son of Steve and Sheila Godwin, and the grandson of David and Nilene Ivey and Roberta Godwin and the late Martin Godwin, all of Mammoth Spring.

Godwin was selected All-State and All-State Tournament this year.

He was also an All-Conference pick the past four seasons, and an All-Region selection the past two years.

He had a .488 batting average and .797 on-base percentage this season, with over 30 stolen bases and only two errors all season at shortstop.

Taking part in his signing were his parents and WBC assistant baseball coach Frank Lee.

John Katrosh is head coach of the baseball Eagles.

WBC plays in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.

Williams Baptist is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.
