The Hardy Advertising and Promotions Committee met in a special meeting July 8 to discuss the upcoming T-Bucket Bash and the possibility of providing participants with vouchers to redeem at downtown area restaurants for desserts.
Hardy Mayor Nina Thornton said that since some of the restaurants do not offer dessert, the committee agreed on a compromise so all businesses could participate.
The T-Bucket Bash is an event to be held July 16 in downtown Hardy that will bring nearly 100 T-Bucket cars to the area for a stop on their Ozark tour. The drivers will stop and eat and shop in the historic district of Hardy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The A and P Commission has agreed to provide each participant with $5 Bash Bucks. These bucks can be used like cash at any of the downtown restaurants. The mayor will reimburse the businesses who turn in their Bash Bucks by July 20.
Thornton said the bucks must be validated by her signature, the participant's name and the initials of the person who redeemed the voucher.
