Fred and Betty Arnold of Batesville, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Fred Arnold of Myron graduated at Violet Hill in 1953, and Betty Lou Mooney of Glencoe graduated at Salem in 1959. They were married in Fulton County on July 9, 1959.
After spending a few years in Wichita, Kan., the couple moved to Batesville in 1964, where they raised two children and have lived there since. Fred retired from the grocery business and now works for 106.1 FM Radio in sales. Betty is a retiree of Batesville School District.
For their anniversary, the couple took a trip to South Dakota. Accompanying them on the trip was their son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Teri Arnold of Dallas, Texas. Visiting Mount Rushmore and Badland National Park were the highlights of the trip.
