All-Stater Stevens signs with Maryville

Former Thayer Lady Bobcat standout Micah Stevens recently signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Maryville University in St. Louis.

Micah is the daughter of Scott and Regina Stevens of Thayer, and is the granddaughter of Jr. and Linda Brewer of Thayer, J. D. Roberts of Couch and Walter and Sharon Stevens of Marshfield.

Steven's impressive career statistics included scoring 2,123 points, an average of 24 points per game, along with racking up 2.5 steals per game.

This past season, Stevens earned many indivudual honors, including being named first team All-Conference, All-District and All-State.

She was also voted MVP of the South Central Association by SCA coaches.

Stevens was also a McDonald's All-American and she received the K-Kountry 95 Steve Atkisson Award for top female senior athlete.

Maryville University is an independent instituion offering about 50 undergraduate, seven masters and two doctoral degree programs in professional programs and arts and sciences.

Maryville University is the highest-ranked university in St. Louis and ranked 29th in the Midwest in the University Masters category by U.S. News & World Report.
