Commissioners agree to motor grader purchase

Thursday, July 30, 2009

The Oregon County Commission met May 29, July 6 and July 17 and discussed various issues, one of them being the issuance of permits for utility vehicles.

The Commission, in conjunction with the Forest Service, decided in the July 6 meeting to sell permits for utility vehicles. These permits will be the same as the permits for ATV's and will have the same state guidelines as ATV's.

During the same meeting, the Commission agreed to purchase two new Caterpillar Motor Graders from Fabick.

Peggy Rogers was re-appointed by the Commission to another four-year term on the Oregon County Library Board at the May 29 meeting. Rogers represents the Thayer area on the library board.

The Commission appointed Leslie Wayland July 17 to fill the unexpired term of Dee Dee Gum on the Oregon County Health Board.

The Oregon County commissioners meet every Monday and Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Oregon County Courthouse in Alton.
