The event still benefits Fountain Place, a senior independent living Christian retirement center in Cherokee Village.
Twenty-eight teams (112 participants), one more team than played in last year's tournament, were on hand for the event.
Though not all returns are yet in, it is estimated that net proceeds of the tournament to benefit Fountain Place will be over $7,500.
This year a total of 17 major sponsors, along with 33 hole sponsors, donated prizes for the tournament.
This year's tournament winners were:
Championship Flight: 1st: Junior Byford, Joann Burgess, Josh Everheart and Helen Chaffin (with a score of 58); 2nd: Randy Curler, Patricia Kimball, Glen Mitchell and Ed Hardison; 3rd: Matt Modelevsky, Matt Haustein, Bart Barton and Elbert Frazier. This is the second year in a row that a team captained by Helen Chaffin has won the tournament.
1st Flight: 1st: Larry Kissee, Carloyn Kissee, John Kissee and Wade Paul; 2nd: James Blevins, J.W. Blevins, Jim Short and Joe Dockins; 3rd: Joey Cooper, Jason Rhodes, Tim Hansen and Stu Smart.
2nd Flight: 1st: Kevin Young, Holly Bell, Dale Rogers and Linda Rogers; 2nd: Buddy Smith Jr, John Lotz, Brett Adkisson, and Anthony Burkhammer; 3rd: Dannie Lafferty, Mike Innis, John Leslie and Donnie Bryant.
As usual, team scores were flighted into three flights after play.
Gift Certificates for the South Course Golfshop were again awarded to the top three places within each flight as follows: 1st place: $300; 2nd place: $240; 3rd place: $180.
Hole prize competitions were held on all 18 holes.
A $20 cash prize was awarded for each of the following contests: longest drive, men only; longest drive, women only, longest drive men and women, longest putt made, closest to the pin, closest to the pin 2nd shot and closest to the pin 3rd shot.
