Noel Gene Loosey, 48, of Calico Rock was arrested July 24 in connection with the June 6 burglary and theft at the Patrick Thompson home where more than 40 guns, electronic and other items were stolen. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the arrest was made without resistance at what is commonly known as the Loosey Compound off Arkansas Highway 5 near Calico Rock. Many of the guns have been recovered along with some other items and have been returned to the owners. Judge David Miller set bond for Loosey at $50,000. Loosey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Mandi Ruth Thompson, 29, of Mountain Home was arrested July 24 and charged with felony theft by receiving. Bond for Thompson was set by Judge David Miller at $25,000 which Thompson posted upon her arrest. Thompson is free pending a court date. Sheriff Lawrence said that additional charges and arrests are anticipated.
On Thursday, July 23 a call for deputies at a Lunen Street apartment in Melbourne resulted in the arrested of Donald W. Douthit, 44, and Trinia D. Armor, 36, both occupants of the apartment. Each were charged with domestic battery third degree and Lowe was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a minor. Information obtained by deputies indicate that Douthit returned home to find his girlfriend passed out of the couch and when she was awakened by a burning cigarette in her hand, Douthit asked where their child was and was told the child was at a neighboring apartment. An argument began and intensified to the throwing of clothes and led to a physical altercation. Judge David Miller set bond for each at $1,000 which was made and both were released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
On July 23, deputies responded to the Shadow Gate community near Violet Hill in response to another domestic violence call. Arrested at this residence were Jill Adrian, 30, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Marsha Isaac, 41, of Violet Hill. Both were charged with third degree battery. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, Marsha Isaac is the sister of Adrian's boyfriend, Jason Pittman and when Isaac asked Adrian and Pittman to leave her residence, they refused. A physical altercation resulted between Isaac and Adrian. Both have been released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a court date.
On July 22, the Izard County Sheriff's Department investigated an attempted breaking and entering of Bill Terry's Boat Dock in Calico Rock. The lock to an outside closet had been broken but nothing apparently taken. One of two locks on an outside locker was broken. One item, an yellow raincoat is thought to be missing which had been hanging on the outside of the dock.
Charles Shawn Cartwright, 44, of Calico Rock was arrested Friday, July 24 on charges to include possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle without insurance and driving an unsafe vehicle. Cartwright posted bond in the amount of $2,695 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Dale Shayne Taylor, 33, of Melbourne was arrested Sunday, July 26 on charges to include driving while intoxicated-drugs, fleeing, and careless/prohibited driving. When booked into the Izard County Detention Facility, Taylor tested positive for methamphetamine. Taylor was out on bond at the time of his arrest on a previous drug related charge. Taylor is also being held on a possible bond revocation.
Ryan Douglas Conyers, 24, of Melbourne was arrested Sunday, July 26 on the charge of driving while intoxicated. Conyers posted bond Monday morning in the amount of $1,025 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Three inmates who were awaiting bed space in the Arkansas Department of Correction were transported to prison on Thursday. Roy Stroud, 72, of Batesville will serve time for sex related crimes. Paul David Beaver, 25, of Horseshoe Bend was sentenced under a parole revocation associated with breaking and entering along with theft of property. Donnie Ray Woodcock, 28, of Calico Rock was sent to prison on a parole violation.
Kevin Monroe Hutson, 28, of Melbourne was arrested Thursday on federal warrant relating to a probation violation which stems from an earlier conviction of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. Hutson was delivered to U.S. Marshall's the next day.
Stephen Shaw Pool, 20, of Calico Rock was arrested Friday on an El Paso, Texas, felony warrant. Pool remains in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting extradition to Texas.
Crystal Gayle Lyons, 28, and David Lyons, 38, both of Oxford, were arrested Sunday night on charges of public intoxication. Both Lyons are still in the Izard County Jail awaiting the posting of a $205 bond.
Scott Hucks, 42, of Little Rock was arrested Sunday for DWI, refusal to submit, no seat belt and careless and prohibited driving. Hucks is awaiting release pending a $1,055 bond.
