The Thayer Chamber of Commerce met Aug. 5 in the Bank of Thayer board room and filled officer positions.
For 2009-2010 Dr. Scott Ream is president, Lisa Cates is vice president, LaRee Rees is now secretary and Adam Courter is treasurer.
Caroline Sutherland reported that the Caboose had a total of 789 visitors for July and a year to date total of 2,825 visitors. Sutherland said she will see about having new T-shirts made at Two River Tee for the Caboose.
Sept. 26 is the day of the Fall Festival. Rent for booth space will be $20. Contact Sutherland at 264-7324 to reserve booth space. The entertainment for this year will be the talent show. Contestants can will be able to pick up forms as soon as they are made available at K-Kountry 95 and the Caboose.
Bob Eckman submitted the final report on the total amount of funds raised from the 2009 Fireworks. He said the total was $6,300, which includes money from the chamber.
"We very much appreciate the community's support in coming out," Eckman said.
The chamber also spoke of the possibility of raffling a rifle to raise more funds for next year's Fourth of July event.
The chamber agreed to have their meetings once a month instead of twice a month. They will now meet the first Wednesday of every month and rotate to different restaurants in the Thayer area. Members will be notified by e-mail on the location of the meetings. On months when there are five Wednesdays in the month, the chamber will have their regular meeting on the first Wednesday and a board meeting on the last Wednesday.
The location of the next Thayer Chamber of Commerce meeting has yet to be announced.
