As the result of a request to the Izard County Sheriff's Department to conduct a welfare check Sunday night, Aug. 16, on the occupant of a house off state highway 354 between Wiseman and Horseshoe Bend, the body of Sherill Funderburk, 55, was discovered. Eddie Howard, Izard County Coroner and Chief Investigator Charlie Melton investigated and determined the death was not the result of foul play. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Funderburk had been under medical care for sometime.
A Sunday night traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Laura Suzanne Mansfield, 34, of Calico Rock. Mansfield's charges include driving while intoxicated, violation of child passenger protection law and no seat belt. Mansfield remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
A call Saturday afternoon to a residence near Cooper's Hawk Golf Course regarding a man sitting in his vehicle in a driveway resulted in the arrest of John M. Miller, 50, of Horseshoe Bend. Miller was charged with public intoxication and taken to the Izard County Detention Facility. Miller posted bond the following day in the amount of $250 and was released with a court date.
In an unrelated matter, Jared Jay Holland, 28, of Mountain Home was arrested Thursday afternoon after failing to pay for gas at a Calico Rock convenience store. Holland posted bond later that day in the amount of $1,150 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a court date. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that failing to pay for motor fuel is a class 'A' misdemeanor regardless of the value of the fuel and if convicted could result in the forfeiture of driver's license.
Kimberly Dawn Sanders, 34, of Brockwell was arrested Sunday on a probation/parole violation warrant. Her husband, Joshua D. Sanders, 31, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant and later posted bond in the amount of $3,045 and was released. Kimberly Sanders remains in the Izard County Facility on a Department of Correction hold.
Jamie Clayton Stapleton, 30, of Calico Rock was arrested Friday on charges of driving on a suspended license, operating a vehicle without license plates, and operating a vehicle without insurance, and a Cleburne County warrant. Stapleton posted bond later that day in the amount of $1,600, given a court date, and released.
Deina Marie Stonebraker, 23, of Calico Rock was arrested Friday night on a Baxter County warrant. Stonebraker posted bond the later in the amount of $345 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
