Mettler, Harmon co-medalists

Sharing medalist honors with a 37 apiece, Izard County High School's Kiley Mettler and Rachel Harmon led the Lady Cougars to a win over Pocahontas Sept. 1 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Pocahontas.

Kristen Doty added a 51 for the Lady Cougs, giving Izard County a team total of 125, 46 strokes better than the Lady Redskins.

Pocahontas was paced by Olivia Futrell's 55.

In boys' action, Trumann shot a team total of 125, knocking off the Cougars by 14 shots.

Uriah Mead led Izard County with a 42, while Preston Harmon finished with a 48.

Caleb Cowan shot 49 and Zack Logan 59 for the Cougars.

Trumann's Dylan Dulaney was medalist with a low score of 40 for the day.

The day before, the Cougars finished in second place in a four-team match at Eagle Mountain in Batesville.

Southside and Heber Springs tied for first with a 136, while the Cougs shot a 146 and Concord a 159.

Preston Harmon notched medalist honors with a 42.

Mead and Cowan added a 52 apiece.

In girls' action, Heber Spring topped Izard County 139-156.

Katie Webb finished as medalist with a low score of 41.

Rachel Harmon led Izard County with a 43, with Mettler adding a 50 and Doty a 63.
