Hardy men face burglary charges

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Two Hardy men in the their early 20s are facing burglary charges after a break in at a hunting club north of Hardy in Fulton County.

A Fulton County deputy responded to a burglary call at the McFadden Ranch Hunt Club on Nine-Mile Ridge, north of Hardy, at about 10 a.m. on Aug. 25.

The deputy made contact with the owners of the property and proceeded to investigate the area. A 22-magnum rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun, along with miscellaneous camouflage and a flat screen television, were removed from a residence at the hunt club. Total value of items stolen was estimated at $5,000, according to the police report from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.

From that investigation, the deputy found evidence that led to the discovery of the identity of one of the accused. The burglary occurred at about 1 a.m. on Aug. 21.

He went to the home of Cory Clouse of Hardy on the afternoon of Aug. 25, the arresting deputy said.

After questioning Clouse, he admitted to the charges and provided information that led the deputy to the discovery of the second suspect. Jerrett Stanford of Hardy was arrested one week later, the arresting deputy said. All stolen items were returned to the owners. The items were retrieved from Clouse's residence and the woods near Stanford's residence, the report said.
