Oregon County Commissioner Leo Warren announced Oct. 2 that the county accepted a contracting bid at 2 p.m. for the roof of the courthouse.
Warren said bids opened a few weeks ago, and the county received three bids. One bid was from Allied Roofing of Springfield. Another bid was from KFC of Alton, and the winning bid was from West Plains Roofing. The bid was $36,750.
The current roof is about 20 years old and is about 6,500 to 7,000 square feet.
Warren said once the bid request is accepted it will take about two weeks to plan the construction out and make estimates and another two weeks to finish the roof.
