Event to highlight Narrows history

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

The Mark Twain National Forest Eleven Point Ranger District and the Oregon County Commissioners will sponsor an event on the Narrows that will tell visitors about the history of the Narrows and the Morgan Spring area.

The event will be held Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bring a sack lunch and camera, wear your walking shoes and enjoy as Forest Service employees Bruce Gibson and Randy Long share the history of the Narrows and Morgan Spring area.

The Narrows are on the Eleven Point Ranger district on Highway 142, west of the 142 river access on the Eleven Point River.

A shuttle will be provided from the 142 boat launch parking area to the Narrows and back as needed. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled and rescheduled for next spring.
