The Thayer Chamber of Commerce met Oct. 7 in the board room of the Bank of Thayer and discussed how things went at the Fall Festival.
Many chamber members had positive comments about the event. Chamber President Scott Ream commented that there were a lot of families that attended the Fall Festival and had fun.
Some chamber members said that it was too dark during the crowning, but Caroline Sutherland said a couple of businesses that had booths in downtown Thayer were pleased with how the event went.
The chamber also discussed various ideas for next year's Fall Festival.
Chamber Secretary LaRee Reese gave out raffle tickets for each chamber member to sell for a deer stand. The drawing will be held Nov. 7. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
The chamber welcomed Southern Stone Company, LLC, to the Thayer Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting following the meeting. Deanna Smith, a representative for the company, explained what the company has to offer. Southern Stone specializes in hand crafted stone in custom colors.
