Tickets are now on sale for the Salem Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet. The banquet will be held Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Hickinbotham-Miller Building at the Fulton County Fair Grounds. A Social Hour and Silent Auction will start at 5:30 p.m. and the Banquet will start at 6:30 p.m.
Awards will be presented to Jim Short, the Salem Community Service Person of the Year, Shaver Plumbing & Hardware, the 2009 Salem Business of the Year, and Jim and Sue Bicker, the Educators of the Year. The Devon and Janet Smoot Family will also be honored as this year's Fulton County Farm Family of the Year.
The social hour is sponsored by Karrol Fowlkes, candidate for State Representative District 82, and the BBQ for the banquet meal is provided by Representative Curren Everett, candidate for State Senate District 10.
Banquet tickets are $10 each and are now on sale at the Fulton County Clerk's Office, Fulton County Farm Service Agency, North Arkansas Electric Cooperative, Bank of Salem, First National Banking Company, Mammoth Spring Bank and Salem High School.
