CEO and General Manager of Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative Dan Singletary was recently elected as a district representative to the Internal Operations Committee of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC) in Jefferson City.
AMEC is the organization that serves 47 Missouri electric cooperatives, which provides electricity to more than 500,000 rural members. AMEC is also tasked with training efforts and legislative issues for all of Missouri's electric cooperatives.
Singletary has been the CEO and general manager of Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative since 1994. During his time with the coop he has served many positions with AMEC including board of directors, Internal Operations Committee, junior executive committee member, AMEC senior executive committee member, State Liability Insurance Research Committee, officer of State Managers Association and president of the Missouri Electric Cooperatives Insurance Plan Board of Trustees.
Singletary was also elected in 1994 to the Sho-Me Power Board of Directors. He held a number of positions on the board including secretary/treasurer, president and chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee. Sho-Me Power is a transmission cooperative that delivers electricity and fiber optic services to Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative and eight other cooperatives in Missouri.
Singletary was also recently elected to the board of the Associated Electric Cooperative. This coop provides power generation needs to cooperatives in Missouri and some coops in Oklahoma and Iowa. Associated Electric Cooperative serves 900,000 members.
Duties Singletary will perform as a member of the Internal Operations Committee of AMEC which includes responsibility for activities concerned with the internal operation of the statewide association and ensuring local electric cooperatives receive needed services.
